Goldilocks and the Three Bears iPad style

The iPadders were great sports
as we took pictures of them pretending to be Goldilocks.
We imported the photos of them,
then drew out the background, next fluffed a pillow, sketched a bed (hard to do)
and finally added some bears.
You can probably tell which are my samples...
Hope they make you smile!

the week in instagram

my week in instagram...
my desk
 new washi tape
sunlight through the lace curtains at my parents
 ahh a rainbow!
I hope they are nice risks :)
One of my students tried to explain how she solved
the math problem  9+12
by stating I helped her - that is how.
Oh they make me laugh...
a beautiful church service
precious gifts lovingly carried by her from Japan
juicing
And this guy leaned over the upstairs landing railing...
and yes he fell to the lower floor,
humiliated but ok.
Thank goodness he has decided to sleep on the chair
over the heating duct today instead of the landing.

huff and puff

The Three Little Pigs came to visit this week.
We made the three types of homes by using 3 different brushes for straw, sticks and bricks.
But the best part was reading different versions of the story
including these fun versions.

Puss in Boots

This week we read Puss in Boots in iPad Fairy Tales.
It was rather amazing how many different versions there are
including one that takes place in Texas
with oil rigs, possums and of course cowboy boots on Puss.
Here is my example first and their pieces.

the week in instagram

some random instagram pictures...
I drove by artEAST and discovered my crow painting in the window,
and we celebrated our 33rd anniversary
with some of this,
which led to buying a juicer and making some of this - yum.
and Zoe enjoyed an Easter ride
and some quiet time washing my foot.
Hope your week was extra special
and if not there is always next week. ;)

Little Red Riding Hood - iPad style

This week we discovered just how dark a tale Little Red Riding Hood is.
But we also discovered several more uplifting versions
including one called a "new Fangled Prairie Tale"
where grandma drives a tractor and scares the wolf as he approaches
and recites "all the better to see you with" etc.,
then trains him to help her make muffins to satisfy his hunger.
This version was very fun and way more uplifting with a valuable life lesson too.
I had each of them copy what I was doing and they turned out quite nice for 2nd and 3rd graders.
I think they just need to hug and make up, don't you?
My favorite illustrations were in this classic tale by
Lari Don
and the remade version is by
Lisa Campbell Ernst.
