a corgi mother's day

definitely a corgi kind of day
as both sons gave me corgi items...
first this lovely towel arrived from Jonathan and Kim
(thank you Zoe for modeling)...
my daughter-in-law was oh so clever
and peaked at my etsy favorite list to find the towel
I had long ago forgotten about...
and then Nick showed up a day early and
couldn't wait to share his wonderful find -
a beautiful pen and ink adventure Korgi by
Christian Slade...
pure artistic genius if you ask me...
he knows his corgs...
or maybe I should say korgs...
Do you think she's had enough posing?
better stop and give her a treat.
then we spent the afternoon with Doug's family
and my favorite great niece Ella,
who is growing up way too quickly
(looking at the rain drops here -
I know I look pretty dorky,
but don't think anyone is looking at me really)...
and we went for a walk...
and I got to hug my youngest too.
Hope your day was wonderful!

mom day

I miss my mom so much...
the sore spot in my chest just won't heal.
Here is one of her poems I love.
"Statue of Liberty"
They jeered,
as she came up to bat
and froze over home plate.
Therapies later,
she learned to smack life
with a flaming torch.
That was not the answer either,
so she undid her statue
and emerged -
naked, vulnerable
and free.

living in a bell jar?

well it's time to come out and play...
figured these little guys needed to come meet my art clubbers...
so while I was getting out of the old bell jar and
enjoying some much needed time in NY,
these little guys got to play with the art kiddos
and Ms. Dillon who graciously taught them in my absence.
looks to me like they had quite a bit of fun...
 with red polka dot mushrooms
(never could understand how these ones could be so
pretty and so poisonous).
and each of these magical worlds was again created on
 a Michael's miniature frame.
I really must get some stock in that company...

oh me of little faith...

in the last Harry Potter movie I watched
Professor Dumbledore tells Harry,
"It's not our abilities that show what we truly are,
it's our choices".
eloquently put really...
so much of life is really just showing up...
do you know what I mean?
notice that painting with the flowers
on the far right
on the second row from the bottom?
well it's mine and is now residing in the window
of this wonderful art gallery
in Issaquah, WA.
and you may remember what a hard time I was having with the little bugger.
I almost threw it in the trash but persevered.
there's a lesson in there -
most of life is just about showing up,
making choices,
and pouring yourself into it does not hurt either.
so this online auction for my work and 150 others begins May 6.
I will give you the particulars once it opens.
You can bid on my piece.
wouldn't that be fun to have a bit of me on your wall
above your fireplace
or next to your coffee maker to cheer the beginning of your day
or wherever you need a bright spot?
I am feeling rather drawn to this fat cat wearing horizontal stripes.
isn't he a hoot?
he would definitely cheer me up
and maybe if he came to live next to my food cupboard -
he just might keep me out of it too.
our NYPhiladelphiaPrinceton trip was wonderful
and I really do not know how to go through all the photos...
so give me some patience
and I promise there will be some amazing places to share soon...
yes hopefully soon.

Seattle coffee and sun

waiting for my husband at Cafe Vivace while he works.
the sun is out,
music plays
and a good book awaits me...
did I mention the sun was out?
the dog in the store next door was enjoying
every last gleam of it too.
(hi guys - this was an automatic post from a couple of weeks ago...
just got back from Princeton and New York -
wow what a trip -
can't wait to share all my photos with you!!!)
