a little bunny love

I am so behind in posting art projects

so please forgive me

and pretend it is Easter or early spring

made these cuties...

got the original idea from Charlotte lyons'

article from Inspired Ideas Online magazine,

but she used celluclay for hers which is more like paper mache.

Instead we used paperclay, one of my favorite items from Michaels.

I needed one package divided between 5 students so I thought

"why not fill the center with tissue paper?"

which is what we did.

 I took a piece of clay and rolled it flat, 

inserted paper into the center 

closed it up.

it worked beautifully.

now the little bunny lump needed some ears...

and white felt seemed well suited for bunny ears.

we poked slits where we wanted ears,

added a dab of glue

and inserted ears.

After painting the bunnies white we added acrylic eyes, noses, etc.

I also thought a little cotton ball tail would be perfect too.

and a gnome joined our family...

of cottonballs...

along with a spring chick...

more bun buns...

and these very happy rabbits.

one more art lesson left this year,

but I do believe I have 3 more lessons to share with you...

Matteo's Memorial Day weekend chores

the weekend is here and I have so many chores to do...

first I need to oversee the sewing of a slipcover...

 this vantage point works very well...

 and I think my mom needs a break so 

I will just plunk myself on the cushion 

so she will have to take a breather...

 and now I need to do some chair testing...

hmmm it passes my inspection

 so it can move to its new home...

 in the living room.

and next on the agenda is helping Nick proofread

his 15 page paper.

It is for "rat lab", his nick name for "animal lab" - 

ahh I've trained him well.

and it's his last ever psychology paper

as he graduates in two weeks...

it even smells like rats...

 kinda mad he didn't share any of those tasty rat morsels with me...

so I guess I will let him tell me just how sorry he is

with a tummy rub...

ahh his hands have left over rat scent on them I hope!

oh my, oh my...

what would I do without pinterest?

a Sunday blessing - have a banana...

 I am blessed to work at a school that celebrates the little things...

each wednesday lattes are delivered to our desks

and once a month a little sweet is included.

this week we got the sweetest little cookies with this beautiful quote

and since the TA next to me can't eat this,

she had her quote attached a little differently -

isn't this a hoot?

how clever...

I will never look at banana skins the same again.
And only if I would remember this quote daily...
each day is what we make of it
and our attitude towards it
(and sometimes I tumble into it 
jinxed from the start),
so this week I am taking a do-over 
and plan to make each day the best day of the year!

until I come to this guy...

see that quite large snail next to him?

well it fell from the sky right in front of us.
then we realized it had been dropped by said bird
as he was smart enough to use this technique to gain access 
to its interior...
smart bird, lucky snail as he gave up with us standing there.

I thought I had died and gone to heaven,

 but no it was the abc home store...

7 floors of pure bliss.

and who came up with the idea of covering an eames chair

with fabric and even needlepoint on the headrest?

pure genius.

and if you are lucky enough to discover the basement

you will find a whole Conran shop 

neatly tucked in there...

and going back up you just may spot this elevator wall...

and a little bit of serenity on an upper floor...
