a holiday wreath for little ones to make...

We've made this wreath the past two years with my first grade students -

First I cut out tagboard in dark green,

then we do hand prints in a deep forest green,

then a Christmassy green,

then a chartreuse.

So there are 3 layers of prints.

The best thing about this project is that I paint the acrylic onto their hands

and it is cold and feels funny and they all laugh...

then after the needles are dry they each make berries

with their pointy finger.

Finally ribbon is chosen

and glitter is glued on

and sparkly pipe cleaners tied on.

They are so proud when they pack it up to take home to parents -

wish I could see the joyous unwrapping...
