Wonder Full!

StudioJRU
the dictionary describes wonder as:
a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration,
caused by something beautiful,
unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable
I found  these beauties at Art Fest and fell in love with them instantly.
They were created by the very talented Stephanie Lee.
The play on words jut gripped me and made me chuckle.
Wish I could be full of wonder all the time.
Why does that part of us sometimes just disappear?
The one place I know I can still find wonder is in nature-
the colors and textures never cease to amaze me
and cause me to grin
and buy every plant I find just because...
so lucky me-
we ripped out our old shaky, moldy deck of 23 years
and in its place we now have a new stone patio and pots
(I will blog about the process later)
and lots of new places for plants to be tucked.
So watch out nurseries here I come!
I will take one of everything please...

For me this old hymn says it all -
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

maybe these will remind me...
Where do you find wonder?

  2. Great post! For me, I find wonder in nature as well. I love clouds! I'm always in wonder of them. How can such amazing pieces of nature be so mysterious and yet we see them everyday? Nature sure is great!

  5. I adore that hymn, and I love your succulent plants. We have our share of succulents around here, too -- my 8-year-old son Noah collects them!

  6. One of my favorite hymns. I used to sing it to my three year old when he was a baby. Have just found your blog and I adore it: I will become a follower! Oh, and your art isn't too shabby, either!
